Atom also sells picture frames. Please note that these are available for COLLECTION ONLY - we do not currently ship frames.

We stock standard black and ash box frames* in a range of standard sizes. Our frames are made from wooden moulding (2cm across the front and 3cm deep), with Arqadia "Hayseed" conservation mount and we use glass not acrylic.

* A box frame is deeper than a normal picture frame. It has a wooden fillet or spacer between the glass and the print, therefore there is no need for a cardboard 'window' mount. We strongly recommend keeping the print from any contact with the glass in this way - otherwise any moisture entering the frame can stick the ink surface to the back of the glass thereby damaging the print.

The sizes are the size of the glass, so an A2 frame will fit an A2 frame exactly, two or three millimetres of each edge trapped under the spacers the the edges to keep it in place.

The + indicates that the frame is 2.5cm bigger on each side than the size specified. This means a print can be 'float mounted' showing the edge of the paper, and revealing a small amount of the mount board around the print. Prints can be 'high float' mounted, this involves glueing a piece of 5mm foam core to the mount board to raise the print up a little and create a shadow on the mount board. This costs an extra £5 for up to A3 and £10 for larger than A3.

If you didn't buy your print in the gallery but would like us to put it into the frame for you, we can do this for an additional £5 for up to A3 and £10 for over A3.
