Fiftyseven is the pseudonym of Steve Mitchell, a self-employed graphic designer, illustrator and printmaker based in London. His work is built from a dizzying mix of decoration and pattern, filled with a wealth of historical, religious, occult and masonic symbolism. Preferring to work with a restricted colour palette - especially favouring metallic inks - he calls the style ‘Neo-Victorian Maximalism’.
Raised and educated in the North East he gained a degree in Graphic Design in 1997 and since then has worked primarily in the music industry.
